Early this week, the passengers at Morton Train station were greeted by a newcomer of the four legged variety … A lost dog wandered on to Morton Station during the early morning commute, surprising passengers and staff.
The skittish pooch climbed on to the train and was escorted off and into the train station where Lynda, the cashier working mornings at Morton Station, worked with passengers to help the poor little guy out. He was then taken to Stoney Creek Vet and it was there they discovered he had a broken leg. The vet bill was paid anonymously, and poor little “Morty” (yes, that’s not his name but wouldn’t that be a great one?) is now recovering in foster care.
While we still don’t know how he managed to find his way to Morton Station, nor his original puppy parents, we’re glad to know his story has a happy ending and he’s now with folks who are genuinely caring for him. Thanks, Mortonites, for helping each other out in a time of need – even the four legged kind!
