At the train station municipal lot. Parking meter 21 is not working. Please fix it. Also half of the meters glass is cloudy and are so hard to read . A Frustrated honest citizen .
Trash is picked up on Monday holidays, sometimes! Please check this site and MoTV for updated info. When major holidays – Christmas, New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day fall on a Monday – trash is picked up the next day (Tuesday). Any problems with trash or recycling pickups – please call the Borough 610-543-4565 and you can leave a message here – but a phone call is preferred.
Is there anything that can be done regarding a pedestrian crossing at Morton & Mitchell Avenue? Why does someone have to be run over, especially during rush hour? Is there not anyone in Morton Borough government willing to be pro-active and deal with this issue.
I realize you cannot control the volumn of traffic, however there are things you could do. For instance, turn Mitchell Avenue into a oneway street. Cars coming up Mitchell cannot see traffic coming at them from 420 due to all the parked cars in front of the shops in Morton, so they have no choice but to pull half way out into traffic coming down Morton Avenue from Rutledge. They are too busy with avoiding being hit by another car to see the pedestrian right in front of them trying to cross the street. Only allow cars to make a right off of Morton Ave. onto Mitchell Ave. Why can’t this be done?
Another idea would turn Morton & Mitchell into a crosswalk for Pedestrians, similar to what they have in some shore towns in Jersey. If a pedestrian is waiting to cross ALL cars must stop, until the pedestrian has made it through the crosswalk. Police would obviously have to enforce this in the beginning. It’s worth a try!
Please consider these suggestions. I have almost gotten hit twice just trying to cross the street to get to my home. It’s always bad there at that corner however it always seems to get worse when we switch from DLS time to STD time.
Thank-You
I hope that you received the notice of the “Morton Connects” transportation study being done by a grant from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission. If you did not attend the public meeting held Dec. 16th, please be advised that this intersection (and all of the business district of Morton Ave.) are included in the study. I also suggest that you can contact Robert Poole, our Borough Administrator, for more info. 610-543-4565 or Robert.Poole@rn.com. I will make sure to forward your comment in case he has not seen it.
Feel free to contact me – we need and want the public input for this study.

For some reason when I put my money in the 21 meter it is not working. Is there anyway that I can show payment being as though I put my money in there before knowing it was expired? I just don’t want a ticket.
If this is still a problem, please call the Borough Office during business hours at 610-543-4565 or the Police Dept. between 9 to 3 at 610-544-8770. The Police Dept. handles the parking meters.
About a month ago I called the borough hall about trash piling up at the corner of Sycamore and Country Lane. It would be the plot next to apartments with addresses such as 601(for example). It was taken care of but the men put all the trash in cans that were on the side of the building(I guess the cans belonged to the tenants). Those cans are still sitting there and are never bought to the curb for trash pickup.
In the meantime, trash is building up again.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Your complaint was forwarded to our Code Enforcement Officer. If this is still a problem, please call the Borough Secretary, Marty Preston,610-543-4565, during business hours.
We have one of the busiest SEPTA stations in Delaware County, and the parking situation is terrible. There’s a 10-year wait for a spot next to the station … spots across from the station are gone by 7:30 a.m. … the residents on Bridge Street put orange cones in the street to prevent parking … and the walk from the Church Street lot in rain/snow/heat is ridiculous (last night a group of us got one drenching after another from the cars driving by).
Why not build a parking garage? I think riders would be more than happy to pay daily, weekly, and monthly fees for the convenience of garage parking at the station. Was this included in the DVRPC study mentioned in the December 2017 comments?
Thank you!
Unfortunately your email did is limited in length. As we attempt to handle all parking problems in Morton, I am not sure of your exact complaint/question. Please feel free to email me at MMiller@Mortonpa.org and I will see if we can be of assistance.
is there a noise ordinance in Morton, if so what is it ?
Thank you

Without knowing your exact question as to what kind of noise, please go to mortonpa.org and hit the “Ordinances” highlight. You can then search “noise”. If that does not answer your specific question(s) please call the Borough Office, 6120-543-4565, during business hours to see if they can answer your question.
